I left early from Burnham and enjoyed a sunny walk up a frosty Burnham beach, passing by the the low lighthouse at the water’s edge and then working up to Brean where I met Kate and Jamo who were walking with me to Weston Super Mare. After a large breakfast at a cafe we climbed the steep steps up to the top of Brean Down and walked along it to see the Napoleonic forts at the end.
We then had to retrace our steps as the normal path was closed due to migrating birds.
As we crossed over a river bridge Rich joined us and our little party walked along the muddy river , beneath the high church and then along the beach to Weston.
