I set out from Instow and met with another walker Mark who was also walking the coast having worked his way round the South Coast. He wasn’t doing it as a through walk but we exchanged notes for a few miles.
Just after he carried on at his normal pace, which was faster than mine, I came across a couple of Glossy Ibises which are quite rare.
That was the most excitement of the morning as I walked along the cycle path to Barnstable, grabbing a coffee before rejoining the cycle path to Braunton.
One local I met near Braunton told me the Glossy Ibises were regular visitors to the area which was well endowed with Oystercatchers and other waders.
My back up man Dave Stayte joined me for a walk into Braunton and a meal. He had bought my new tent pole with me which would make wild camping a lot easier!
