A short walk to day from St Ives to Towan sands via Hayle.
It started raining at 9am and rained the rest of the day! But it was still an entertaining walk with two miles of it accompanied by a lovely local and her dog while we exchanged walking stories.
Then onto Hayle home of Philps pasties which are delicious! (Other pasties are available) . Calling in at their shop I topped up the calories before walking three miles through sand dunes. However full marks to Hayle who had marked the way beautifully through the dunes with big slate markers.
My camp site was sheltered from the wind and rain in what turned out to be the ruins of a WW2 structure to distract German Bombers from raiding the port at Hayle.
