Once again packing up a wet tent I made my way through a part of the island where there were big estates and big houses. As a result the path went no where near the coast and moved round the shed of the estates.
I saw another red squirrel before the rain came down in earnest again. It was then a question of plodding on towards Cowes where I crossed the river by the chain ferry. From there it was mainly road work to get me to Ryde.
The trip was pleasantly interrupted by Nikki who despite heavy traffic and heavier rain pulled up alongside for a chat and gave me helpful directions on getting to Ryde.
More resembling a drowned rat than a walker I reached Ryde and thankfully bathed and did my laundry in my apartment in Ryde cost £50 for a night.
