Today’s mission was a walk round Hayling Island. As I was looping back to my room in Havant I took the opportunity to carry a light pack.
The first part of the walk on the island was on the old railway line that used to run through the island. M This was easy gravel walking interspersed with joggers. Hayling Island has a large entertainment area on the south coast most of which was closed. My flag attracted interest in the cafe unfortunately mainly from a Jack Russell who took a particular dislike to it.
I met a fellow walker called Vivienne and we spent a sociable time walking to the marina. There was a strong wind blowing which made for some exciting sailing.
The walk back to Havant took me through the centre of Hayling Island which is built up and then through farmland to the North. Then back to the hotel across the road bridge. The light weight pack was a definite winner. Unfortunately not likely to be repeated.
