The walk from Sheerness should be been straightforward following the Isle of Sheppey coast. Unfortunately, life was made difficult by a strong wind which was attempting to blow me off the cliffs. The other problem was the erosion which had wiped out the path for about seven miles.
Eventually, by some byways, I reached Leysdown-on-sea. This was a large holiday village however at the end of the season all the food shops were shut bar one bakery and one pub. However there were three empty amusement arcades open using a vast amount of power to have all their flashing and noisy machines.
The wind continued down the coast and I was glad to rest up for half an hour in a bird hide while the rain stopped.
Then it was on to another cliff top to camp for the night. I am now getting proficient in putting my tent up in the wind.
